Connie
Light has been a member of the chorus for three years. She came to us from the Palo Duro Metro Chorus of
Amarillo, TX, after singing as a dual member in both choruses for a year.
In the Palo Duro Metro Chorus, she served
as the Lead Section Leader, Choreographer, and Music Team Secretary. She has served
Prairie Winds as an Assistant Lead Section Leader, Costume Chairperson, Assistant Director, and now Director. As of May 2009, Connie became the Communications Coordinator for Region 25 of Sweet Adelines International.
Growing up
in a musical family, Connie has been singing and playing the piano all of her life. She
sang with the award-winning quartets - Crystal Collection Quartet for three years (including two Wildcard Quartet
Invitations to the Sweet Adeline International Competition) and Star Struck Quartet for four years. Currently, she is the lead for CROSSFIRE Quartet.
In her life
outside of Sweet Adelines, Connie is a secretary/bookkeeper for an agricultural company. Her
husband, Richard, is VERY supportive of her musical pursuits, often attending rehearsals, traveling with her, and searching
out costumes for her groups. He sings barbershop, as well, with his quartet, Dynamite. Aleisha, their daughter, is also a budding musician.
She plays the piano, sings, and is in the percussion section of the 5th grade band. They live in Sudan, TX.
